Caffeine Induced Orgnizing

So, I have made it three days on the “10 Hour Coffee Diet”.  Yesterday I felt really good!  After downing my protein coffee drink, I ended up starting an en-devour of organizing my entire house.  I turned on some peppy music to match my caffeine buzz and started in the kitchen.  First priority was the dreaded pantry.  This was something I had been putting off for awhile now.  In the name of eating healthy, it had to be done!  And guess what?  There is an app for that!  There are a few to choose from…I picked one that scans the bar code of each item I have called.  It is called Pantry Check.  It automatically brings up a picture of the foodstuff and sorts it into categories!  Plus it tracks expiration dates and alerts me when something is about to go past due.  How cool is that?  I love technology when it actually works!   The only problem is you have to scan every, single, little thing.

Now, I have a walk-in pantry. It isn’t Martha Stewart huge, but it is just big enough to step into.  So what does one do with a walk-in pantry?  Fill it, of course! Being in the middle of nowhere, I like to be prepared for those “just in case” zombie apocalypse scenarios.  So I stock up on beans, rice, canned fruits and vegetables.  Don’t forget the canned meats like tuna, chicken, anchovies, and snails…yes snails (don’t knock em till you try the tasty little buggers).  Then there is the baking section of white flour, wheat flour, coconut flour, hazelnut flour, almond flour (you know, for all those crazy Pinterest recipes)…you get the idea.  What I thought would be quick, with my new found technology, took me most the day.  After all that, I’m proud to say, my pantry resembles the 50’s fridge in the pic above!  I can now quickly do a search on my app to see what I have on hand when meal planning.  This has one minor downfall.  If the hubby finishes a product, and doesn’t tell me, I will have no clue I need to update the app.  This is probably doomed for failure…but, I’m pretty happy with the novelty of it!
